Overview
The uber Incarnation of Dread is the hardest of the three Incarnations, fought at area level 85 in Moment of Reverence. Every kill drops one guaranteed unique from an uber-only pool and a guaranteed Astrolabe, and the pool's rare top end, The Golden Charlatan, is what makes the fight worth farming.
Setup
- 4x Reverent Fragment — consumed per run, placed in the map device to open the uber version of Moment of Reverence.
- Run time — about five minutes end to end: a 4:30 kill for a good build clearing it cleanly, plus around 30 seconds for portals and loading the fragments. This is the site's modelled estimate, not a measured time.
The Encounter
- Rose Phases — at 90%, 60% and 30% life the boss becomes immune; weaker versions of Incarnation of Neglect and Incarnation of Fear must be killed for the Blue and Red Roses, each carried back to Dread. Picking up both roses without delivering one in between makes them explode on you.
- Volatile Orbs — four orbs accelerate towards you and leave fire and chaos ground on contact; in the uber fight these pools persist for the whole encounter.
- Engulfing Fire Nova — heat closes in to a small circle around the boss, then everything outside it explodes. It cannot be blocked, dodged or suppressed.
- Eyebeam — a nova of lightning projectiles, then eight lightning lasers fired at 45-degree angles.
- Teleport Slam — vanishes, marks a large circle at your location and crashes down, dealing more damage at the centre.
- Lingering portals — the cold chilling areas from the first Rose Phase and the fire beams from the second keep firing for the rest of the fight, and the area has 70% less damage taken for monsters.
How These Numbers Were Calculated
- The method — a synthetic 100-kill sample built from published drop rates, not recorded runs. A 54% drop is counted 54 times, a guaranteed drop 100 times; expenses are one run's four fragments times the same 100 runs, and the hourly figure spreads that net total over a modelled five-minute run.
- The rates are estimates — the wiki's uber figures come from roughly 95 kills on version 3.27.0, so the rarer rows (a 2% unique, a 1% key) rest on one or two observed drops. Real results over a short run of kills will differ.
- Not modelled — Memory Strand items and other drops without a stated rate are left out.
The Golden Charlatan carries close to 40% of the modelled profit at a 2% drop chance, and without it the remaining drops do not cover the fragment cost. The strategy is profitable only on average across many kills: going dozens of kills without a Charlatan is expected, not a sign the strategy is broken.
