Overview
Uber Incarnation of Fear is the harder version of one of the three Incarnation pinnacle bosses, fought at area level 85 in the Moment of Trauma. Every kill is guaranteed one unique from its own pool and one Astrolabe, and the Astrolabe carries most of the value, which makes the returns unusually steady for a pinnacle boss. The arena carries the mod Monsters take 70% less damage.
Setup
- Traumatic Fragment x4 — four fragments in the map device open the uber fight.
- Run time — about two and a half minutes per run, end to end. This is the site's estimate: a two-minute kill for a competent build plus half a minute for portals, travel and loading the fragments. It is not a measured time.
The Encounter
- Stomp — inflicts Crushed.
- Staff Slam — slams the spear into the ground, leaving Burning Ground and inflicting Scorch.
- Melee Combo — rapidly strikes the ground, releasing three homing projectiles.
- Orb Fire — up to three orbs rotate around the arena, tethered to the boss by beams of fire; their debuff deals fire damage over time, lowers maximum elemental resistances and stops life and energy shield recovery.
- Spear Throw — aims along a tracking line, then throws; the page says that if the boss has been aiming at an Orb Fire and you avoid the spear, the orb is destroyed on impact.
- Rapture Beam — charges, then fires a tracking beam of fire while launching salvos in front, inflicting Anger's Intensity.
How These Numbers Were Calculated
These figures are a model, not recorded runs.
- Method — a synthetic 100-kill sample built from the PoE Wiki's published drop rates: a 2% chance counts as two drops, a guaranteed drop as 100. Expenses are one run's fragment cost times the same 100 runs, and the hourly figure spreads the net result over an assumed two and a half minutes per run.
- Rates are estimates — the wiki's uber rates come from roughly 1,000 kills across versions 3.28 and 3.29, and the page itself warns that actual rates may vary. The Traumatic Reliquary Key is listed only as about 1%.
- Astrolabes — Templar Astrolabe is modelled at 33% and each of the nine other types at 7.5%, as the page gives them.
- Not modelled — the Memory Strand items the boss also drops, since the page gives no rate for them.
- Short runs will differ — a handful of kills will not match these proportions.
No single drop dominates. The largest row, Templar Astrolabe, carries under a quarter of the modelled profit, and Coiling Whisper, a 36% drop, carries about a fifth. Because an Astrolabe drops on every kill and makes up roughly three quarters of the value, returns should track the model closely. The bigger risk is the entry cost: the fragments cost close to two thirds of what a run returns, so a rise in their price cuts into the margin faster than any unlucky streak.
