Overview
Uber Searing Exarch is the hardest version of one of the two Eldritch bosses. You open it with four Blazing Fragments instead of an invitation, and the fight itself is short — a strong build kills it in about a minute. It drops a pool of uber-only uniques along with the Eldritch currencies. Almost all of the value sits in one rare drop, so read the last section before you commit to it.
Setup
- Four Blazing Fragments. Put them in your map device to open Absence of Patience and Wisdom at area level 85. That is the entire cost of a run — nothing else is consumed.
- About one minute per run. That is a good build killing the boss cleanly, and it is fight time only. Your own loop will be longer once you count buying fragments, loading in and picking up loot.
The Encounter
- Monsters take 70% less damage. This is an area mod on the uber fight. Bring real single-target damage or you will be in there for a long time.
- Rolling Meteors. The boss goes invulnerable and sends 16 to 18 lines of meteors across the arena. Teleport skills like Flame Dash pass straight through them. Minions, totems and Frost Wall body-block them, but the block still explodes, so stand clear.
- Molten Minotaur. One is summoned at the start of every meteor phase and stays until you kill it. They stack up if you ignore them.
- Mortar. The boss channels Blazing Salvo and can turn while casting. In uber it fires two extra projectiles per projectile. Keep moving sideways.
- Lantern Explosion. A large fire hit that ignores block, dodge and spell suppression. Leave the marked circle early — the warning is slightly larger than the hit, but not by much.
- Searing Runes. Tiles sweep the arena. Standing on them burns you and stops all life and energy shield recovery, and it halves your travel skill cooldown recovery for 10 seconds after you step off.
- What to bring. Overcapped maximum fire resistance, strong single-target damage, and a movement skill that teleports rather than dashes.
How These Numbers Were Calculated
Nobody ran 100 uber Exarch kills to produce these figures. They are a model built from the drop rates published on the wiki.
- The method. A synthetic sample of 100 kills. A drop chance in percent is read straight as a count, so a 5% chance becomes five drops and the guaranteed unique pool is split by its own percentages. Expenses are one run's four fragments multiplied by the same 100 runs. The hourly figure spreads the net result over 100 minutes, because a good build kills the boss in about a minute — that is an assumption of the model, not something anyone measured.
- The rates are estimates. The wiki's uber drop table comes from version 3.26.0 with a sample of about 650 kills. Rates that small carry real error, and drop rates get rebalanced between leagues. Over a short run of kills your results will look nothing like this.
- Where the money is. Forbidden Flame is roughly three quarters of all modelled income, on a 5% drop chance. Everything else put together only just covers the cost of the fragments. That means twenty kills without one is completely normal, and it also means the whole strategy is a bet on one price and one drop chance. If Forbidden Flame drops in value, this stops being worth running.
